Heritage Malta tours of San Pawl Milqi this coming FridayHeritage Malta is once again giving the general public the opportunity to visit the archaeological site of San Pawl Milqi located in Burmarrad. The site will be open on Friday, the 10th of February, Feast of St Paul, between 12.30pm and 4.30pm.

Visitors will be able to view the archaeological remains of one of the largest Roman agricultural plants on the island, and the chapel, which are not normally open to the public. Guided tours of the site will start every 45 minutes.

San Pawl Milqi is the site of a Roman villa at Burmarrad which according to tradition is where St Paul was given hospitality following his shipwreck in Malta in AD 60. The chapel still standing within this site dates back to 1616. Archaeological excavations carried out in the 1960s uncovered a large agricultural area dating from the 2nd to 3rd centuries B.C.

Entry to the site costs €4 for adults, and €2 for senior citizens and students. Children 12 years and under, and members of Heritage Malta, enter free of charge.
