The Kempski Hotel last weekend celebrated its 10th anniversary from when the Hotel joined the Kempinski portfolio.
The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono attended the event and met with some 110 workers currently employed in the hotel which in the summer months increases to around 160. She also met with the Baldacchino family are the owners and developers of this luxury hotel in Gozo.
The Minster said that the anniversary was a milestone that reflects several successes for all those involved as well as success for the tourism sector in Gozo. “This is also reflected in the confidence shown by investors in the potential of Gozo, as well as the quality of the luxury services offered and the ability of the employees at this hotel. It also meant job opportunities for many Gozitan workers during the time that this hotel has been open, including those on management training.”
Frederick Azzopardi, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry for Gozo, also attended this event which was hosted by the Manager, Mr Noel Attard.

This hotel is very beautiful, but unfortunately simply doesn’t seem to provide the necessary oomph to make it an outstanding or even mediocre hotel. We have continuously been disappointed with food and service there (but we are optimists) and the last time we popped into the snack bar – 3 weeks ago at 1800 – my husband was served a cold and congealing chicken and noodle stir fry, which he returned and was re-served a micro-waved heated version which was even more disgusting than the original. To be fair, the bar manager agreed and didn’t charge us.
What is the problem? I have never had a decent meal there – not since it first opened – 15 years ago?
As for creating jobs, what a joke.
The next obvious question is:
How many jobs has the Fort Chambray complex provided?
How many jobs will the Hondoq complex provide?
Wake up people and stop the rape of Gozo while you still can!
